My yoga experience

I have been practising yoga for over 20 years, qualifying to teach in 2006. My training was with the internationally recognised British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) receiving the qualification, the BWY Diploma.

I have been teaching Yoga regularly since and in 2009 trained again with the BWY to teach Yoga to children. After completing the BWY children's module I taught children, family and teen classes in Sheffield until 2012 when I moved house. I do intend to go back to teaching children again once my own children are fully independent, I keep my DBS check updated so I can accept teenagers in my classes as they have found the classes valuable.

As a member of the BWY I undertake continuing professional development attending courses and training approved by the BWY. I hold an up to date CRB and First Aid.

The Yoga style I was originally taught was Hatha Yoga which is a balanced practice and a fantastic place to start, over the years I have developed my own style from that firm foundation with particular emphasis on the humanist approach, allowing individual students to gain a deeper understanding and awareness of their own body's ability. I then encourage my students to practice with attentive curiosity, that will lead to a yoga practice that is individual and so beneficial.
